Madalena Alberto releases ‘Foreign Sketches - Live Studio Recording' an album in  which the West End star performs her own songs solely accompanied by guitar.

Born in Lisbon and moved to London on her own when she was 17, Madalena Alberto  played last year the role of Fantine in the acclaimed 25th Anniversary production of Les  Misérables with rave reviews. Her next theatrical project will be the new production of  Godspell directed by Michael Strassen at London's Union Theatre. She previously had starred in such shows as Fame (UK Tour), Chicago (Kuala Lumpur), Zorro the Musical (West End) and Over the Threshold (Edinburgh Fringe Festival & Off-West End). Alongside her theatre work, Madalena has found herself in music and in expressing her life experiences through songs.

"Here is the first draft on the selected sketches. Foreign by nature, as is mine, and  presented in their rawest form. Blown wide open, letting the stories, emotions,  sensations, live through a voice and a guitar. Their blueprints are constantly mutating themselves, choosing new friends, new  sounds... But that will be then. This is now." says Madalena regarding her ‘Foreign  Sketches'.

Brilliant modern day poet with a unique beautiful voice, Madalena expresses universal  feelings about emancipation, dreams, drugs, sex, betrayal and jealously, to name a few  experiences we all connect with.
