Monday, October 3rd Former Soul Coughing frontman Mike Doughty discusses his productive 2011, during which he released Dubious Luxury and Yes and Also Yes with The Alternate Side's Alisa Ali. Doughty plays Bowery Ballroom on November 19th.

Tuesday, October 4th Tennessee sister rockabilly outfit Those Darlins, recently declared a "band to watch" by Rolling Stone magazine, sit down with The Alternate Side's Kara Manning before their upcoming show at the Bell House on October 14th.

Wednesday, October 5th Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Motopony join Alisa Ali to talk about their recently released self-titled debut. The band plays Bowery Ballroom on October 19th.

Thursday, October 6th As he gears up to release Reverie, his 13th album, singer, songwriter, producer and Madonna brother-in-law Joe Henry visits FUV Music Morning host Claudia Marshall for an in-studio interview and performance session.

Friday, October 7th The Guardian heralds South Dakota's EMA-aka Erika M Anderson--for making "connections between Siouxsie and Sonic Youth that you didn't know existed." The former Gowns frontwoman released her solo debut, Saints, earlier this year and stopped by to talk to Alisa Ali before she starts her U.S. tour on October 12th.

Monday, October 10th On Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns, longtime WFUV favorite John Hiatt's timeless songwriting is paired with the aggressive blues guitar. He sits down with WFUV host Eric Holland to discuss the new CD and his career. Hiatt plays the Count Basie Theatre on October 19 and City Winery on October 20th and 21st.

Tuesday, October 11th Alt-country and rock songwriter Ryan Adams joins Claudia Marshall to chat and play songs from his 13th CD, Ashes & Fire.

Wednesday, October 12th Gaslight Anthem lead singer Brian Fallon's new band, The Horrible Crowes, joins Eric Holland in the studio and plays tracks off their recently released Elsie.

Thursday, October 13th Alt-country greats The Jayhawks performed live for WFUV members in this recent edition of FUV Live.They share a bill with Rosanne Cash at the Beacon Theatre on October 21st.

Friday, October 14th Metronomy's The English Riviera, snagged the band a prestigious Mercury Prize nomination. Metronomy returns to the New York area this month for a show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, but sat down with Alisa Ali first for a wry and wonderful session.

Friday, October 21st Kentucky garage rockers Sleeper Agent make raw, effusive music, with a defiant feminine twist. The sextet's debut album, Celebrasion, is out now and the band dropped by to talk to The Alternate Side host Russ Borris for a raucous session. They play the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey on October 23rd.

Monday, October 24th Founding member of pioneering L.A. punk band X, John Doe talks about the releases of two CDs in 2011, Keeper and the fan-funded Jill Sobule collaboration A Day at the Pass, with WFUV Music Director Rita Houston.

Tuesday, October 25th Adapting the blues, folk and other roots music, The Wood Brothers perform for Claudia Marshall in celebration of their new CD, Smoke Ring Halo.

Wednesday, October 26th Chicago folk-rock band Fruit Bats, headed by sometimes Shins collaborator Eric D. Johnson, sits downwith Alisa Ali.

Thursday, October 27th Already renowned across Canada thanks to the success of his previous two full length albums - 2005's Sometimes and 2008's Bring Me Your Love--Dallas Green, who performs as City and Colour, has his eyes set on American audiences with the release of his third album, Little Hell.He drops by Studio A to talk to Alisa Ali and plays Terminal 5 on December 7th.

Friday, October 28th -- As they wrap up a U.S. tour in support of their latest CD, Life Fantastic, Russ Borris gets to sit down with Philadelphia's Man Man. The experimental five piece use everything from Chinese funeral horns to toy noisemakers to create what Pitchfork calls their "odd, Waits-ian oomp-ah music."
