2024 marks Dropkick Murphys' 5th year in a row of livestreamed performances as part of their annual run of hometown Boston St. Patrick's Day shows. In 2020, the livestream visionaries were one of the first to embrace streaming performances, starting with their Streaming Up From Boston St. Patrick's Day virtual performance.
Dropkick Murphys have announced the full itinerary for their 2024 U.S. St. Patrick's Day Tour. All dates will feature punk legends Pennywise as special guests, with hotly-tipped Dublin rock band The Scratch opening the shows through March 15. Openers for the March 16 and March 17 shows at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston will be announced soon.

The 10-track album (available on CD, LP and streaming services worldwide) takes off from 2022’s This Machine Still Kills Fascists, on which Dropkick Murphys write original music around previously-unpublished lyrics of the late Guthrie in a unique collaboration, with the band finding a common philosophy in the lyrics of the “original punk.”

The video for 'Two 6's Upside Down' finds Dropkick Murphys performing the song while gathered around the Woody Guthrie statue in Woody's native Okemah, OK, interspersed with footage of the band debuting the song before enthusiastic European festival crowds this summer. The song is woven vividly into American history – not only as the celebrated anthem of the American Civil Rights Movement of the late 1950s and 1960s, but also as a protest song in the earlier labor movement. Both the history and message of the song resonated with Dropkick Murphys, longtime champions of the downtrodden and the working class.
The release will feature three bonus tracks including the band’s poignant rendition of “We Shall Overcome.” Previously released B-sides, the cover songs “James Connolly” (by Larry Kirwan) and “The Bonny” (by Gerry Cinnamon), are also included in the expanded edition, which will be available in both stereo and 3-dimensional Dolby Atmos mixes.
The U.S. trek--which was originally scheduled for May of 2020--runs from August 10 – October 16 and will also feature festival appearances by Dropkick Murphys and Rancid at Riot Fest in Chicago on September 18 and Aftershock in Sacramento on October 8.
Turn Up That Dial, released April 30 via the band’s own Born & Bred Records, is Dropkick Murphys’ tenth studio album, and fourth consecutive Billboard top 10 album debut, joining 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory (2017), Signed and Sealed in Blood (2013), and Going Out In Style (2011).
Dropkick Murphys’ new album, Turn Up That Dial, is available today, via band-owned Born & Bred Records. Produced by Ted Hutt, Turn Up That Dial is the band’s 10th full-length studio album. Dropkick Murphys celebrate the simple pleasure of music, the relief and release from worry that comes when you “turn up that dial” and blast your troubles away.
Instead of charging for tickets to the Turn Up That Dial Album Release Party Free Live Stream Concert, the band will “pass the virtual hat” to take donations to help support their efforts to keep paying their employees, and a portion of donations will go to charity as always.
“Queen Of Suffolk County” follows the album’s tongue-in-cheek single “Middle Finger”, which was recently released, accompanied by a Kes Glozier-directed video shot in London just before the band’s last show prior to the pandemic.
